His creative activity was rewarded with numerous distinctions:
- The second George Enescu Composition Prize (1940) for Variaţiuni pe tema populară Trecui valea;
- The Robert Cremer Prize (1943) for 5 Songs, verses by Mihai Eminescu;
- The State Prize (1953) for Concert for string orchestra, Sonata for Flute and Piano, Sonata for Violin and Piano;
- The State Prize (1955) for Symphony no. 1;
- The title Emeritus Master of Arts (1957);
- Prizes of the Composers’ Union (1973, 1976, 1978);
- The George Enescu Prize of the Romanian Academy (1974);
- The Grand Prize of the Composers’ Union (1983).
